Funds Available for Collaboration with the National Children’s Study

The Brown University National Children’s Study Center is seeking local researchers who are interested in participating in the development of adjunct studies related to the National Children’s Study.  The Center is funded by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development which awarded Brown University a five-year contract to join the National Children’s Study and create partnerships between Brown University, Women & Infants Hospital and others in the state of Rhode Island.  At this time funds are available to Brown affiliated investigators only.   Letters must be submitted no later then December 15th, 2008.  Selections will be announced January 12th, 2009.

Principal Investigators Stephen Buka and Maureen Phipps (Brown University/Women & Infants National Children’s Study Center) will host an informational session on Friday, November 14, 2008 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at 121 South Main Street, Room 245 that will include:

¨      Overview of National Children’s Study and opportunities to

        develop adjunct studies

¨      Description of funds available to support new applications

¨      Question and answer session
