Joe attended La Salle Academy in Providence, R.I. and graduated from the University of R.I. in 1974 with a BSEE degree and a minor in Mathematics. Joe received his MBA from the University of New Haven in 1978.
Joe is a veteran who served in the U.S. Navy from 1972 through 1976 and, after spending two years stationed in Augsburg, Germany, he returned to Westerly in 1976 to joined Electric Boat as an electrical engineer. In 1980, he began a long and successful career with Analysis & Technology (A&T) where he rose to the position of EVP responsible for 1200 people located in 6 states. During this time he also served as the Chairman of the Board for a wholly-owned subsidiary responsible for advanced technology in multi-media training. In 1994 Joe was selected to attend the Harvard Business School Program for Management Development Program as part of the company’s succession plan to become President of A&T He was inducted into the University of Rhode Island Business Leadership Hall of Fame in 2008.
In 2000, Joe joined his close friend and fellow A&T alumni in forming Rite-Solutions, Inc. with a vision of revolutionizing business leadership and employee relationships. The mission of the company is equally bold – “Innovate every Day”. The firm has been recognized in articles in the Harford Courant, the New York Times, and Newsweek International for its innovative approach to technology and business conduct in the 21st century. Rite-Solutions was highlighted in a CNBC five part special on the Business of Innovation and Stanford University has developed a Business Case detailing the creative and innovative leadership and processes employed within the company. The company has also been highlighted in several management books.
As CEO of Rite-Solutions, Joe’s responsibilities included, among other things, the development and implementation of a sound technical and financial business model that would maintain the company’s unique culture while sustaining an aggressive growth posture.
In 2018 Joe retired from full-time line management responsibilities and currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Rite Solutions.
In addition to his duties at Rite Solutions, Joe serves as an Executive Vice President of the Southern New England Defense Industry Alliance (SENEDIA); Congressman Langevin’s Cyber Security Advisory Board; the R.I. Defense Industry Consortium; Salve Regina College Student Advisory Board; and most recently, he was accepted as a Trustee of the Mystic Aquarium where he serves on the Technology Committee.
Joe lives in Westerly, R.I, and has been married for 46 years to his wife, Dorothy. Joe and his wife Dorothy have three children and 4 grandchildren. His hobbies include playing guitar in a band; playing tennis; and bike riding. Joe is an avid reader and has a particular interest in Artificial Intelligence, a subject on which he has written articles, one of which was recently published by Signal Magazine.
