The Rhode Island Foundation, with support from local philanthropists John and Leticia Carter, launched an exciting program to seed projects that focus on new, scalable strategies than can tackle persistent problems and lead to economic development and job creation. The two 2012 inaugural Innovation Fellows will receive $300,000 over three years to develop an internet launch pad for retail stores and a program to increase the number of high growth start-ups in under-leveraged economic clusters.
