Jay Marshall is Executive Director of Quality, and Quality Site Head for Amgen Operations in Rhode Island and Woburn Massachusetts. With more than 14 years experience at Amgen, Jay became Quality Site Head in June 2010. He is a member of Amgen Rhode Island’s Site Leadership Team, and is a member of the Amgen Foundation Site Review Committee for community philanthropy.
Jay is responsible for all aspects of the Quality function operations at the site. This includes overseeing the site quality management team, quality assurance operations, testing labs, regulatory compliance, Environmental Health and Safety, as well as learning and development.
Jay began at Amgen in 2000 as a Specialist in Corporate Compliance in Thousand Oaks. He moved into Quality Assurance, and then joined the Rhode Island staff as associate director in Site Quality Management in 2002 when Amgen acquired Immunex. He became executive director of Quality for Amgen Contract Manufacturing in 2005, and then of Quality Control in 2007, both in Rhode Island.
Prior to joining Amgen, Jay held positions in the Quality organizations of Abbott Bioresearch Corp. in Worcester, Hybridon, Inc., in Milford, and Aquila Biopharmaceuticals, Inc., in Worcester, all in Massachusetts. Previously he was a laboratory manager at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester and a technician in the Albany, N.Y., Medical Center Hospital and for the New York State Health Department.
Jay has a B.S. degree in Medical Technology from the Union University Albany College of Pharmacy in New York, and an M.A. degree in Healthcare Administration from Framingham, MA, State College. He lives in Rhode Island with his wife and children.
