Please join us on Thursday, February 19 at 10:00 a.m. in the Coastal Institute Auditorium on the URI Bay Campus as we announce a ninth round of grants supporting multi-institutional, multi-disciplinary research. These grants are the required state match to the RI NSF EPSCoR program and the work funded through this round will use the natural laboratory of Narragansett Bay to help make Rhode Island an international leader in understanding and predicting the response of marine organisms and marine ecosystems to climate variability.

Since 2006, nearly $10 million in Collaborative Research Grants have been distributed to 65 Rhode Island teams pioneering advances in marine sciences, biologics, energy, aquaculture, brain science and medical devices. These seed grants have resulted in over $43.7 million of follow-on funding from federal, philanthropic and venture sources including over $5 million in SBIR/STTR awards.
