Continuing its efforts to seed fund multi-disciplinary, multi-institutional research, STAC will announce a ninth round of grants aimed at building Rhode Island’s research capacity at a STAC meeting on July 21 at 10:00 a.m. The meeting will be held in the Petteruti Lounge in the Stephen Robert Campus Center on the campus of Brown University.

The awards will provide $445,092 in support to six projects, representing 15 scientists from small businesses, research universities and hospitals across Rhode Island. The program is designed to advance research projects that are collaborative across institutions, well positioned to receive follow-on funding and with significant technology development and commercialization potential.

Following the announcement, the Council will meet to receive briefings on the RI NSF EPSCoR program and the Innovate RI Small Business Fund.
