STAC to Announce Recipients of $800K in Collaborative Research Awards

Continuing its efforts to seed fund multi-disciplinary, multi-institutional research, STAC will announce on June 13th a seventh round of grants aimed at building RI’s research capacity. To date, $7 million in STAC investments in collaborative research projects have yielded a return of over $36 million back to the State in the form of federal and foundation grants, venture funding and commercialization of new products.

Following the announcement, URI professor and 2012 STAC grant recipient Dr. David Rowley and Governor’s Workforce Board Executive Director Richard Brooks, will talk about efforts underway to connect Rhode Island businesses with education and training providers in STEM industries and occupations.
