New Summer Program To Mentor High School Cyber Warriors

The RI Cyber Foundation Challenge is seeking local technology companies and organizations that would like to mentor a high school student who has an interest in cyber security for a two week unpaid internship this July.

The goal of the internship is to build on the skills developed through the RI Cyber Foundation Challenge by providing the student with a working knowledge of the information technology environment. Students have specific interest in learning more about day-to-day business operations and real world threats in the areas of networking, operating systems and systems administration.

The internship program is being developed by the New England Institute of Technology which manages the RI Cyber Challenge, an entry level competition that introduces students to the fundamentals of cyber security and allows them to test their skills against students from around the country. Last year, over 300 Rhode Island high school students participated in the program.  For more information, please contact NEIT’s Erin Flynn, Manager of Admissions, Outreach and Events at eflynnn@neit.edu.
