Rhode Island NSF EPSCoR SURF now accepting student applications!

The 2011 SURF student application is currently online and the application period is now open. Please direct interested students to http://www.risurf.org and have them click on either the red "Life Sciences (RI NSF EPSCoR)" button or red "Biomedical Sciences (RI INBRE)" button. There, they will find a list of availble summer research projects.

RI NSF EPSCoR will provide up to 25 fellowships to qualified undergraduates. These fellowships (EPSCoR only) come with a $4,000 stipend and $500 for research supplies. Fellows are also expected to take part in the ancillary elements of the SURF program, including seminars, professional development workshops, and field trips. All fellows are also expected to present a poster of their work at the annual symposium (tentatively scheduled for July 29th).

The student application deadline is March 1 and fellowship selections will be made by mid-to-late March.

Please direct any questions about the program or the application/selection process to Jim Lemire, (401) 254-5718, jlemire@rwu.edu.
