The Rhode Island Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (RI-CIE) received the Program of the Year award at the Northeastern Economic Developers Association's (NEDA) 54th Annual Conference in Providence this past Monday.
RI-CIE, created in 2009 by RI STAC, the RIEDC, and Brown University, is commissioned to grow new jobs and businesses in Rhode Island by connecting entrepreneurs, researchers and existing companies in order to foster information sharing and accelerate the commercialization of ideas. The center hosts seminars on writing business plans and conducting market research, has created a network of mentors, and collaborates with other state organizations to support innovation.
RIEDC also received five awards at NEDA's Annual Conference for marketing and promotion excellence. This is the third consecutive year that the RIEDC has been recognized for these efforts.
