Givens Marine Survial Co. Inc. to be Recognized for Innovative Design by NASA

Givens Marine Survival Co. Inc. of Tiverton, Rhode Island will be recognized by NASA officials on May 20, 2010 in Washington for its self-righting life raft products developed as a result of its partnership with NASA's Apollo program.
The product, a canopied life raft with a hemispheric ballast chamber, is capable of withstanding the strongest winds and waves and is credited with saving over 450 lives.
The event, to be held from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm on May 20, 2010 at the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington, D.C., will recognize Givens as a NASA "spinoff" by NASA Administrator General Charles Bolden, Deputy Administrator Lori Garver, NASA Chief Technologist Bobby Braun and members of Congress. The unique raft design will be exhibited along with other products that are also being recognized.
