$45 Million Project to Provide Short and Long Term Economic Benefits to State
Located in the heart of the emerging Knowledge District, Brown's new Medical school promises to serve as an anchor for the emerging life science sector and a catalyst for dramatic change in the Capital City. This beacon for a new Providence will also provide a much needed central location and world class facility for university classes that are now spread throughout various buildings across College Hill. The building, which will open in August 2011, promises both short and long term economic benefits. Five-hundred construction workers will be hired immediately and 57 permanent positions once the facility is open in 2011.
