RIH to Receive $11M for Stem-Cell Research

Rhode Island Hospital has been awarded $11 million over the next five years to create a major stem-cell research center that will focus on stem-cell biology and tissue-regeneration techniques. The grant has been awarded through the Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE), a National Institutes of Health program. This program has also funded a major cancer research center at RIH, as well as centers at Brown University, Women & Infants Hospital and Roger Williams Medical Center.
