June 03, 2009 in STAC News
The University of Rhode Island has been awarded a National Institutes of Health grant entitled “Rhode Island Network for Excellence in Biomedical and Behavioral Research.” The grant will bring in $18 million over the next five years. This is the third grant in a series awarded to the College of Pharmacy to enhance their biomedical research program, INBRE.
The network has been developed and relationships established with researchers at URI, Brown University, Rhode Island College, Providence College, Salve Regina University, Roger Williams University, and the Community College of Rhode Island. Collaboration is a major focus of RI INBRE and is well aligned with the goals set forth by the RI Science and Technology Advisory Council.
This NIH funding will be used to expand currently existing programs in biomedical research and workforce training.
See the URI press release for more information on the new INBRE grant.
