RI EPSCoR Announces Call for SURF Mentor Applications

Rhode Island EPSCoR is pleased to solicit mentor applications for the 2009 Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship program. As a R.I. SURF mentor, you will be responsible for overseeing a student for 10 weeks (June 1, 2009 - August 7, 2009). During this time, the student will complete a formal research project and prepare a scientific poster. Fellows will also participate in career development activities and field trips. The R.I. SURF program will conclude with a statewide scientific poster conference on August 7th, 2009. RI EPSCoR will provide the students with a $3500 stipend and $500 for research supplies. Mentors will be expected to participate in major SURF program events, including the August 7th poster conference.
The application deadline is January 16, 2009. The research and project information you provide will be made available to students applying to the program and you may be contacted regarding qualified applicants.
