March 12, 2009 in Funding News

The omnibus appropriations bill for fiscal year 2009 (H.R. 1105) was signed into law on March 11, 2009.

The bill includes $410B in investments.  It funds all agencies of the Federal Government, with the exceptions of the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security, until October 1, 2009 (DoD, DHS, VA, and military construction bills were passed last summer).  It can be read here. Specific investments in Rhode Island are highlighted on Senator Jack Reed's Website here and Congressman Patrick Kennedy's website here.

The stimulus funding passed last month is funding in addition to this appropriation.  A summary of R&D in the FY09 omnibus can be found at the American Association for the Advancement of Science's website.
