Funding Opportunities
Welcome to our new webpage and searchable database of federal funding opportunities. The Rhode Island Science and Technology Advisory Council (STAC) is committed to stimulating economic development and job creation by maximizing the economic impact of research, technology and innovation. In an effort to continue this commitment, STAC has created a new funding opportunities tool where state leadership, researchers, entrepreneurs, and all citizens of Rhode Island interested in research and development can find competitive federal funding opportunities in one central location.
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) will infuse $21.5 billion into federal R&D budgets, creating numerous competitive funding opportunities across a number of federal agencies. Investigators throughout Rhode Island's public and private research institutions interested in staying informed on these emerging opportunities can use STAC's new searchable database to gain access to daily updates.
How to Use the Funding Opportunities Tool
For a list and brief description of available funding opportunities, users may browse our funding opportunities tool. The most recently posted opportunities can also be found to the right in the sidebar.
Within the opportunities tool, users may search by keyword(s) of interest or sort by federal agency to view summaries of newly posted opportunities. Users can also select to view a more detailed description of the opportunity, including eligibility criteria, key dates and funding numbers. Viewers will also find links to the full request for proposals and applications.
Users can also sign up to become members of the STAC community and receive weekly e-mail updates of policy and funding opportunities.
Funding News
In the coming weeks, federal agencies will also be issuing regulations and policy alerts detailing how and when funding will be distributed. To help our researchers keep updated on these important alerts, users will find the most recently posted recent news about R&D funding that is relevant to the big picture of Federal funding opportunities in science and technology to the right in the sidebar. Users may also receive RSS feeds to keep up to date on all funding news and funding opportunity entries on this site by clicking the 
RSS icons on the sidebar.
