2009-2010 EPSCoR Entrepreneurial Fellows Program Now Accepting Applications

Rhode Island EPSCoR is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the 2009-2010 EPSCoR Entrepreneurial Fellows Program - an initiative designed to encourage entrepreneurship in the life sciences and biotechnology in Rhode Island. The program is open to graduate students and upper-class undergraduates (juniors and seniors) currently enrolled in participating RI NSF EPSCoR schools. The program will commence in December and continue to the end of the current academic year.

The objectives of the EPSCoR Fellows Program are two-fold: a) to actively engage students in entrepreneurship in life sciences and biotechnology; and b) to support the Slater Technology Fund in its mission to foster entrepreneurship in emerging industries within Rhode Island. As EPSCoR Fellows, students will have the opportunity to identify innovative research and entrepreneurial researchers within Rhode Island academic institutions, engage in the process of new venture development, and support Slater-backed ventures.

The application deadline is November 13th, 2009

The inaugural semester of the program took place in the spring of 2009 and introduced six students from Brown University and the University of Rhode Island to the venture investment process.
